Please plan on 60-90 minutes for our initial session. Follow up sessions are generally 45-60 minutes in length. In the beginning, I recommend we meet every one to two weeks. As you begin to establish new habits, we may meet every 3-4 weeks but the cadence of our appointments is ultimately up to you.
The goal of our first session is to get to know one another and lay the foundation for our work together. I’ll have questions for you about your medical history, diet history, goals, and lifestyle to ensure any recommendations I make are realistic and informed by this background. Please feel free to bring any questions you have as well!
A dietitian is a healthcare professional who has achieved a degree from an accredited program, completed at least 1000 hours of supervised practice, passed a credentialing exam, and is required to maintain continuing education. Nutritionists may or may not have formal education in nutrition as the title is not regulated. All registered dietitians are nutritionists but not all nutritionists are dietitians.
